Job Title: Dispatchers Supervisor

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatchers Supervisor to join our team at BIK-KEN TRUCKING LTD.

Job Summary:

The Dispatchers Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of dispatchers, ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services. This role requires strong communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement plans to prioritize tasks and optimize dispatch operations
  • Coordinate activities with other work units or departments to ensure seamless communication and collaboration
  • Prepare and submit reports to management on dispatch performance and operations
  • Ensure the smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery, and arrange for maintenance and repair work as needed
  • Train workers in duties and policies, and arrange training for staff as required
  • Coordinate, assign, and review work to ensure high-quality results and meet deadlines
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed
  • Organize and maintain inventory to ensure efficient operations
Support for Persons with Disabilities:
  • Provides physical accessibility accommodations, such as ramps and elevators
  • Provides visual accessibility accommodations, such as braille and screen readers
  • Provides auditory accessibility accommodations, such as transcription software and teletypewriters
  • Participates in government or community programs that support persons with disabilities
  • Offers mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for persons with disabilities
  • Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities
  • Applies accessible and inclusive recruitment policies that accommodate persons with disabilities
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:
  • Participates in government or community programs that support newcomers and refugees
  • Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and refugees, such as housing and transportation
  • Supports social and labor market integration of newcomers and refugees, such as language training and skills training
  • Recruits newcomers and refugees who were displaced by conflict or natural disaster
  • Supports newcomers and refugees with foreign credential recognition
  • Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and refugees with experienced employees
  • Provides diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees
Support for Youths:
  • Participates in government or community programs that support youth employment
  • Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth
  • Offers mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for youth
  • Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth
Support for Veterans:
  • Participates in government or community programs that support Veterans
  • Offers mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Veterans
  • Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for Veterans
  • Recruits Veterans and other candidates with military experience through targeted hiring initiatives
  • Assists with immediate transition needs of Veterans, such as relocation and housing
  • Offers workshops, counseling services, or other resources to help Veterans navigate their transition into the civilian workforce
  • Supports Veterans in translating their military skills and experience into the language of the civilian job market
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Participates in government or community programs that support Indigenous people
  • Offers mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers
  • Develops and maintains relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations
  • Provides cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
  • Facilitates access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers
Support for Mature Workers:
  • Participates in government or community programs that support mature workers
  • Applies hiring policies that discourage age discrimination
  • Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers
  • Offers mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for mature workers
  • Offers phased retirement options that allow mature workers to gradually reduce their workload
  • Offers phased re-entry options for mature workers who are returning to work after retiring
  • Provides workspace accommodations, such as age-appropriate ergonomic considerations, to meet the physical needs of mature workers
  • Offers resources to help mature workers plan their retirement
Supports for Visible Minorities:
  • Participates in government or community programs that support members of visible minorities
  • Applies hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities
  • Offers mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees
  • Provides diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities
