Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) to join our team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Early Psychosis Intervention. This is a unique opportunity to work with Indigenous clients and their families, providing culturally safe and effective mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and liaison services to Indigenous clients in community programs throughout the Fraser Salish region.
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans that incorporate traditional Indigenous models of health and healing.
  • Utilize the case management model to assess clients' mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health, and provide education and support to clients and their families.
  • Participate in program and policy planning and development, research, and evaluation to deliver culturally safe mental health services.
  • Work in partnership with clients, caregivers, facility managers, and staff of relevant community and regulatory agencies to provide comprehensive care.
Requirements
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
  • Two years recent related experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and/or concurrent disorders, including experience working with Indigenous individuals, families, and communities.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultural practices, beliefs, and values, particularly as they relate to mental health, wellness, and healing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practice of cultural safety and humility.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to respectfully engage with Indigenous clients, families, and communities.
