Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Road Maintenance Technician to join our team at Webber Infrastructure Management Canada Limited. As a key member of our infrastructure maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of our road network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on roads, highways, and other infrastructure assets, including repairs, servicing, and replacements.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including trucks, trailers, and specialized vehicles, to transport crew and equipment to work sites.
  • Set up and remove traffic control devices, including cones, message boards, and temporary signage, to ensure safe traffic flow.
  • Repair and maintain bridge structures, including railings, expansion joints, doors, and painting as required.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repair of roadway catch basins, sumps, and pumps, fire hydrants, and other mechanical assets.
  • Carry out all duties in line with Company policies and procedures as amended from time to time.
  • Maintain and repair highway and other surfaces, including potholes, striping, adding or replacing reflectors, working with concrete and asphalt.
  • Control vegetation appearance and growth through use of lawn mowing equipment, hand or power trimmers, and chemical sprayers and other methods.
  • Maintain the appearance and functionality of signs, guardrails, fence, and lighting through repair and/or replacement using hand or power tools.
  • Required to be available and accessible for emergency response rotations as need for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One (1) year work experience in infrastructure, maintenance, and repair preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required to drive a company vehicle.
  • Class DZ/AZ driver's license and OTM Book 7 highly desirable.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to traffic and outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; fume or airborne particles. Frequent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, frequent exposure to insects and infrequent exposure to reptiles/rodents. The noise level in the work environment usually moderate but on occasion can be more than moderate.

The employee is regularly required to stand; sit; walk on a wide range of surfaces; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Use manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment. Vision abilities include both close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to pass fit test for respirator as required. Ability to work at heights. Ability to work in confined spaces.
