Director Medical

CARFAX Canada is seeking a seasoned data leader to join our growing Data team. As a Director Medical, you will provide strategic direction for advanced data analytics and machine learning to drive business improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Data Insights team to set the vision and strategic direction for data analytics and machine learning.
  • Own the evolution of CARFAX Canada's Data Governance maturity, ensuring effective use of data, accuracy, privacy, security, and compliance with regulations.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to provide actionable insights supporting decision-making across the organization.
  • Manage a team of data analysts and scientists, responsible for hiring, training, and development.
  • Work closely with the Product team and other departments to understand data needs and communicate the value of data insights.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and ethical guidelines.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends in data analytics and technology, implementing innovative solutions to enhance data capabilities.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a data leader with a successful history of leading through influence.
  • Experience implementing Data Governance is an asset.
  • 5-7 years' experience in the application of advanced analytics in a data company.
  • Solid understanding of database technologies, particularly in a Microsoft Azure production environment.
  • Experience working with large volumes of data from disparate sources.
  • Experience with Agile Development methodology is an asset.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and advanced analytical tools.
  • R, Python, SAS or other statistical software experience.
  • Master's degree in Advanced Data Analytics is considered an asset.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent program and project management skills.
