Maritime Logistics Account Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Maritime Logistics Account Manager to join our team in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for developing business and sales with a focus on maritime logistics products. This includes selling other Kuehne+Nagel products/services such as airfreight, road freight, contract logistics, customs, and insurance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maximizing sales growth through new lane segment development, product marketing, and customer support strategies;
- Developing a clear strategy to cultivate existing customer relationships for cross-selling opportunities;
- Generating and closing new business opportunities and developing account qualification strategies;
- Ensuring revenue growth, meeting or exceeding company sales goals and targets;
- Managing assigned customers and creating effective sales plans;
- Demonstrating expertise on maritime logistics product/service offerings and managing sales of these offerings in a disciplined and direct manner;
- Developing skills and experience to sell airfreight, road freight, customs brokerage, contract logistics, and insurance services;
- Interacting with clients, scheduling meetings, making presentations, and negotiating rate quotations with ease;
- Recording customer activities in the company CRM system and developing customer intelligence;
- Servicing all orders, quotes, follow-ups, and customer communication;
- Producing weekly sales activity reports summarizing activities and new revenue opportunities based on the CRM system;
- Participating in regular sales meetings;
- Supporting maritime logistics product management through competitive analysis, initiating improvements to service offerings, and taking an active role in improving marketing materials.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A minimum of 5 years of field sales experience, preferably with operational knowledge;
- Solid PC operation and Microsoft Office application skills;
- Knowledge of sea logistics services including FCL, LCL, special equipment, consolidations, trans-loading, and drayage services;
- A High School Diploma and preferred undergraduate degree or college certificate;
- Proactive and customer-focused attitude, prior sales and/or customer service experience an asset;
- Strong oral and written communication skills, effective presentation, and customer relations skills;
- Outstanding organizational skills, good analytical skills with attention to detail;
- Goal-oriented, self-disciplined, and self-motivated to produce results;
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and excellent problem-solving skills.
