About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Technician to join our team at Powerite Automotive Inc. As an Electrical Systems Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, including testing and observing electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Component Fabrication and Replacement: Use machining tools to fabricate or recondition parts, replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators, and other components.
  • Welding and Brazing: Weld or braze components as required.
  • Coil Installation and Testing: Wind, assemble, and install various types of coils, and perform static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors.
  • Machining and Repair: Perform some machining to recondition or modify shafts, commutators, or other parts.
  • On-Site Servicing and Repair: Perform on-site servicing and repair of electrical equipment.
  • Wiring and Component Repair: Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Environment: Noisy and dusty work site environment.
  • Security and Safety: Bondable and subject to a criminal record check.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, and able to work in a team environment.
