Technical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Engineer to join our team at Cpus Engineering Staffing Solutions Inc. in Pickering, Ontario. As a Technical Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the Safe Storage and Decommissioning project at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and updating operating procedures, receiving assignments from supervisors, and identifying potential problems and opportunities. They will also be required to prepare new or revised procedures, gather and collate data for budget preparation, and supervise staff involved in these activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and update operating procedures to ensure current practices are recognized and implemented.
- Receive assignments from supervisors and identify potential problems and opportunities.
- Prepare new or revised procedures consistent with operating licenses, policies, and departmental standard practices.
- Gather and collate data for budget preparation and monitor variances to annual budget.
- Supervise staff involved in the above activities and provide instructions and direction as required.
- Participate in training programs to further own development and assist in the development of others.
- Prepare reports to provide information and data in answer to external requests or for historical purposes.
- Initiate studies or investigations where opportunities for improvement are apparent.
- Provide technical evaluations and advice, solve problems, and coordinate technical work as required.
The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in engineering and be DE Qualified as per OPG Qual 33685. They will also have a knowledge of physics, chemistry, metallurgy, mathematics, electricity, engineering, and economics to technically understand the operation of the facility.
Experience in the design, development, or operation of a nuclear facility or in an industrial environment associated with the design, development, operation, or maintenance of industrial systems and equipment is required. The candidate should also have experience in solving problems, providing advice and guidance, initiating developmental studies, and making recommendations during the design, commissioning, and operation of a nuclear facility.
A period of over 6 years and up to and including 8 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
