About the Role

The Change Management Lead is a critical position at Seaspan, responsible for driving business growth and objectives through effective change management strategies. This role requires a strategic leader who can design and implement a change framework that fosters engagement and consistency across all stakeholders impacted by change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and review the enterprise's change management strategy to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Establish processes for change management activities that ensure engagement and a consistent experience with stakeholders.
  • Identify interdependencies between departments and analyze data to provide insights and recommendations that support a positive change experience.
  • Apply complex change management methodology and general management skills to plan, organize, and execute change management across various project sizes.
  • Identify potential people-side risks, anticipate resistance points, and develop plans to mitigate or address concerns.
  • Set the direction for the Change Team and manage change resources assigned to projects and initiatives.
  • Develop change management solutions and make recommendations based on understanding the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Develop and maintain critical relationships with stakeholders to gain support in championing change and ensuring its implementation and sustainment.
  • Facilitate relationships and build consensus to achieve desired transformational results.
  • Collaborate with Communications, Learning and Development, Labour Relations, and HR leads to provide input on communication, training, and organizational design impact.
  • Establish models for leadership and subject matter expert-driven mechanisms to ensure post-project transition and rapid adoption of technologies.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development to develop training to support the development of change capabilities.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or equivalent education and experience.
  • A Change Management certification or equivalent experience in change management principles and methodology.
  • 3-5 years of experience in people leader roles and the ability to foster a collaborative and supportive team-based environment.
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge in change theories and adoption principles and how these principles can be translated into implementation strategies.
  • Experience developing and implementing change management systems, strategies, and plans in a complex organizational setting.
  • Experience with large-scale, multi-partner organizational change efforts.
  • Experience working in and leading cross-functional business teams.
  • Deep understanding of the psychological and operational aspects of how individuals and organizations experience change.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills to establish and sustain relationships across all levels, including management that supports a unionized workforce.
  • Proven ability to influence, engage, collaborate on, and coordinate change activities successfully and positively across multiple organizations.
  • Advanced business acumen to develop diverse organizational development programs and initiatives to support the organization's mission, vision, values, and critical objectives.
  • Proven ability to work effectively at all organizational levels and influence others toward a common vision or goal.
  • Expert communication skills to provide strategic advice and facilitation to all leaders and across all levels of the organization, as well as advanced written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to assess the organization's current state from an organization development perspective, identify issues that affect the organization's overall health, and provide recommendations and coaching on corrective strategies.

The estimated salary for this position is $108,000 - $132,000. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors, including the successful candidate's skillset and experience, as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
