**Job Overview**

At Canada Computers & Electronics, we are seeking a highly skilled Service Technician to join our team. This is a challenging role that requires expertise in computer hardware assembly and setup, as well as exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

**Salary:** $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience

**Responsibilities:

  • Build, test, and service all products with precision and attention to detail
  • Assess and report back on findings on a case-by-case basis, providing accurate and timely solutions
  • Leverage strong analytical decision-making skills to locate root causes of custom concerns and recommend effective actions
  • Install and configure software, hardware, drivers, and BIOS related items with ease and efficiency
  • Provide sales support and technical guidance to customers, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded
  • Be willing to work evenings and/or weekends depending on shifts, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability

**Required Skills and Qualifications:*

  • Must be able to read and speak English fluently, with additional languages considered an asset
  • Hand soldering skills are highly preferred and considered an asset (SMT / board level repairs)
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware assembly and setup, including but not limited to BIOS setup, Windows installation / automation, device interfaces
  • Able to repair laptop components, including LCD, mainboard, and other critical parts
  • Ability to work well under pressure, maintaining a high level of focus and productivity
  • High attention to detail, with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), with ability to learn new software quickly
  • Analytical decision-making skills, with ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with ability to identify and resolve complex issues
  • Able to work independently and within a team, demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong team player, with a continuous improvement mindset
  • CompTIA A+ certification considered an asset
  • ITIL certification considered an asset

**Experience and Education Requirements:**

  • Must be able to legally work within Canada (no job sponsorship)
  • At least 3 years experience within the repair industry
  • At least 5 years building computer systems (formal or informal)
  • A minimum of High School / GED required
