The Sector Support, Performance, and Accountability (SSPA) portfolio enables an equitable, sustainable, and accountable healthcare system through leadership and support for system planning, funding, performance, and accountability. The Director, Sector Planning and Capacity Optimization, is responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and implementing data-driven and evidence-informed planning to enable optimization and enhancement of capacity across health sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of cross-organizational planning and implementation of strategies to enhance capacity across health sectors
  • Facilitate and enable cross-organizational approaches in support of capital infrastructure planning
  • Oversee the administration of specific funding allocations, including the annual ~35M capital equipment grant for radiation treatment equipment
  • Lead provincial procurement initiatives to develop, deploy, and execute provincial master pricing agreements for major capital equipment
  • Foster critical relationships with key stakeholders to enable collaboration and facilitate integrated approaches

The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree or equivalent in business or health administration, public policy, health policy, or a clinical profession. A minimum of 10 years of experience working with guiding, influencing, implementing, etc. policy at the system level, with a minimum of 5 years in progressive leadership positions managing teams. Prior experience in system planning, capacity planning, and a strong understanding of Ontario's health system are essential.

The Director, Sector Planning and Capacity Optimization, will be responsible for leading a high-performing team and will have a proven ability to engage and build relationships with diverse stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong judgement skills, strategic thinking, and problem-solving techniques, as well as exceptional communication skills and the ability to create and deliver effective presentations at conferences and workshops.
