Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Specialist Lead to join our team. As a key member of our compliance function, you will be responsible for ensuring Suncor's power generation and transmission assets comply with Alberta Reliability Standards (ARS).

About the Role

  • Coordinate AESO audits and Self-certifications, including preparing and validating audit evidence, and provision to AESO via AESO Portal.
  • Prepare self-reports and mitigation plans to MSA to prevent future events.
  • Maintain accurate and organized evidence that meets internal and external specifications.
  • Collaborate with multiple business units to maintain and follow ARS standards.
  • Establish effective working relationships with internal and external partners to track follow-up actions.
  • Analyze and support projects for Critical Infrastructure Protection compliance and system reliability.
  • Monitor and track new ARS requirements and ensure timely implementation.
  • Work with regulatory organizations, provide input on new ARS consultation.

Key Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, business management, information technology, or related field.
  • Seven years of relevant experience in the electricity/utility industry, specifically in ARS compliance roles.
  • Experience in cyber security, enterprise applications, and business analysis.
  • Knowledge of Alberta Interconnected Electrical System (AIES) operation.
  • Previous experience with AESO, MSA, AUC, and/or NERC.
  • Project management expertise.
