About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker Assistant to join our team at 14905580 Canada Inc. as part of our commitment to supporting newcomers and refugees in their settlement journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Settlement Support: Assist newcomers and refugees with immediate settlement needs, including housing, transportation, storage, childcare, and winter clothing.
  • Social and Labour Market Integration: Facilitate access to community resources, language training, skills training, and job placement opportunities to support social and labour market integration.
  • Recruitment and Mentorship: Recruit newcomers and refugees who were displaced by a conflict or natural disaster and offer mentorship programs that pair them with experienced employees.
  • Cultural Competency and Diversity: Provide diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees, and develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
  • Indigenous Support: Participate in government or community programs that support Indigenous people, offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities, and provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees.
  • Employment Details: This is a permanent position with 30 hours of work per week, and the language of work is English.
