We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Cell Biologist to join our esteemed Department of Cell & Systems Biology at the University of Toronto. This is a key appointment that will contribute significantly to the department's research excellence and enhance its strengths in plant resilience.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Biology or a related field, a minimum of two years of postdoctoral experience, and an exceptional record of research and teaching accomplishments. A strong background in applying single cell biology approaches in 'omics or imaging to address fundamental questions in plant resilience, particularly in environmental or biotic stresses, is essential.

The department offers a collaborative research environment with access to cutting-edge facilities and a vibrant community of researchers. The ideal candidate will be expected to pursue an innovative and internationally recognized research program, establish an outstanding and externally funded research agenda, and teach undergraduate and graduate courses.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and teaching courses that cater to diverse student needs;
  • Supervising students and mentoring them towards academic success;
  • Conducting research that complements the department's strengths and advances knowledge in plant resilience;
