Global Trade Compliance Specialist

About the RoleThe Canada Trade Compliance Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring Maersk's adherence to Canadian import and export regulations. As a specialist, you will be responsible for providing guidance on tariff classification, HS codes, and preferential origin claims, ensuring compliance with rules of origin and duty programs.
- Provide expertise on tariff classification, including application of SIMA, Surtax, EXCISE DUTY and TAX.
- Manage customs declarations, filing corrections (B2 adjustments), and handling post-entry issues such as voluntary disclosures.
- Stay up-to-date with Canadian customs regulations, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), and relevant global trade agreements.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HS classification.
- Strong understanding of GIRS and Explanatory notes.
- Familiarity with trade compliance software and customs declaration systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite products.
