Job Description:

  • To provide expert advice and consultation on health, safety, and environmental concerns at all projects in Ontario, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • To develop, implement, and maintain effective health and safety programs, policies, and procedures that align with legislative standards.
  • To conduct regular site visits and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
  • To onboard new employees, contractors, and sub-trades, providing comprehensive safety training and ensuring they understand our company's expectations.
  • To collaborate with the HSE Manager to collect, track, and analyze safety-related metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • To assist with health and safety inspections, audits, and reports for various worksites, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • To perform monthly audits of each project, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions.
  • To facilitate joint health and safety meetings, coordinating with stakeholders to address safety concerns and promote a culture of safety within our organization.
  • To develop and deliver health and safety training programs for employees, contractors, and sub-trades, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties safely.
  • To contribute to the development of health and safety strategies and initiatives, working closely with the HSE Manager and other departments to drive continuous improvement.
  • To manage injury claims and reporting, ensuring timely and accurate documentation and communication with relevant stakeholders.
  • To maintain accurate and up-to-date health and safety records for the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of provincial safety regulations and worker's compensation legislation, including the Occupational Health & Safety Act and the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board.
  • Familiarity with the Construction industry and equipment used.
  • Experience with field auditing and investigating incidents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to handle stress and resolve conflicts.
  • Punctual and reliable with a professional attitude.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
