About Your Role

The Senior Advisor/Analyst, Market Risk will play a critical role in ensuring the effective monitoring of market risks and providing high-quality information to portfolio managers. This role requires a deep understanding of risk management principles and the ability to analyze complex financial data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the Market Risk Management Framework, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify and assess potential risks.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with risk limits, providing proactive analysis and rapid reaction to detected deviations.
  • Provide in-depth analysis of financial markets and their risk factors, linking them to portfolio positioning.
  • Offer expertise in financial engineering and quantitative research to business units on risk modeling and portfolio construction methods.
  • Ensure accurate and adequate risk modeling of all types of derivatives traded by PSP and its partners.
  • Participate in the development and automation of new analytical tools to monitor risk/return profiles.
  • Review and optimize operational processes to enable more flexibility in quantitative analyses.
  • Identify and develop new risk factor analysis scenarios.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis for investment groups and management on specific investments or market events.
Requirements
  • Master's or PhD degree in financial engineering or a related field.
  • Professional designation (PRM, FRM, CFA) is an asset.
  • Minimum of five years of experience for the Senior Analyst level or eight years of experience for the Advisor level.
  • Excellent knowledge of risk management and derivatives.
  • Excellent proficiency with data querying tools such as SQL.
  • Excellent programming knowledge (Matlab, Python) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of market risk measurement systems (Riskmetrics) and financial data (Bloomberg) is an asset.
  • Proficiency in English and French (or willingness to learn).
