Job Overview

This exciting opportunity is available for a Long-term Care Program Manager at our Kawartha Lakes Home in Lindsay, Ontario. As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff.

Job Description

The successful candidate will manage unionized and non-unionized contracted staff, recruit, provide orientation, and maintain continuous learning opportunities. They will conduct staff investigations, performance management, and return-to-work programs; monitor attendance programs; authorize vacation and time-off requests; approve overtime; and process payroll. The ideal candidate will also maintain staff schedules, revise job descriptions and job routines, facilitate meetings, and participate in various teams such as QI, BSO, RAI-MDS, infection control, palliative care, emergency preparedness, ethics, peer group, safety group, and LTC accreditation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain staff schedules and revise job descriptions and job routines
  • Facilitate meetings and activities for Residents Council, H&S, and other committees
  • Conduct staff investigations, performance management, and return-to-work programs
  • Monitor attendance programs, authorize vacation and time-off requests, and approve overtime
  • Process payroll and maintain financial records
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or related field, including social work
  • Minimum one to two years of management experience in long-term care
  • Knowledge of Activation and Therapeutic Techniques, Restorative Care, Gentle Persuasive Approach, Montessori-based programming, and event planning
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
