North Island Hospital Comox Valley is seeking a part-time Emergency Physician to join our dynamic team.
We welcome either CCFP-EM or FRCPC Emergency certification.
Our hospital is a 24-hour Emergency Department with inpatient beds, serving a population of approximately 66,000 people and seeing over 31,000+ visits annually.
We are a referral center for some surgical specialties and have a broad range of consultants, including Internal Medicine, Intensive Care, General Surgery, and more.
We see trauma patients and are the local trauma team until patients can be transferred to a tertiary trauma center.
We are the Rapid Response Team for the hospital and attend all cardiac arrests and code calls for admitted inpatients.
We have an academic affiliation with the University of British Columbia (UBC) postgraduate programs and are a teaching hospital.
We are looking for physicians with specialized skill sets, particularly those with dedicated academic, quality improvement, or leadership experience.
As a new hospital, there is room for quality improvement initiatives, which would be supported by the department.
Benefits
May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidy agreement (RSA), including:
- Recruitment Incentive: up to a maximum of $10,000 (pro-rated based on FTE)
- Relocation: up to a maximum of $15,000 (amount based on location relocating from)
- Fee Premium 6.93%
- Annual Flat Fee $10,052
- CME payments of $ in years 3 and 4 and $ after 4 years
