About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team at Vaco. As a key member of our financial services team, you will be responsible for building relationships with lawyers and developing insight and knowledge of their practices and billing cycles.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with lawyers, firm members, and management to ensure timely billing of WIP
  • Proactively meeting with lawyers to review and address aged WIP and accounts receivable
  • Identifying high-risk clients and working with the Team Leader, Accounts Receivable, and management to minimize exposure risk
  • Accountability for meeting billing and collections targets and providing analysis and explanation of unavoidable delays in billings and collections
  • Communicating with clients with tact and diplomacy to resolve payment delays and escalate unresolved issues appropriately
  • Making recommendations to resolve queries with aging WIP and accounts receivable
  • Preparing financial analysis for special billing and payment arrangements
  • Preparing and sending out specific packages to clients
  • Maintaining status notes on all systems
  • Completing special projects as requested, and other duties as assigned
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong background in financial services. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A college diploma or equivalency
  • A designation is not required
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience within a professional services environment
  • Working knowledge in MS Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Adobe
  • Proficiency in accounting software, including ARCS and 3E preferred
  • Well-versed in industry-standard credit and collection policies, systems, and controls
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A team player who takes initiative and works well independently
  • Demonstrates excellent client service and ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to be effective and prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Discretion, confidentiality, and attention to detail are essential
