We are seeking an experienced Tax Counsel and Director to join our team at the Royal Bank of Canada. In this role, you will provide tax expertise and guidance to our business units, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
Job SummaryThis is a full-time salaried position based in Toronto, Canada. The estimated annual salary for this role is approximately $120,000 - $180,000 CAD, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Tax Guidance: Respond to tax-related queries from business partners, providing timely and accurate guidance to enable functions to deliver quality client service.
- Research and Develop Tax Strategies: Conduct complex tax research and develop tax strategies that minimize risks and optimize returns.
- Supervise and Develop Team Members: Participate in the supervision and development of other Tax Advisory Group members, sharing knowledge and best practices to drive success.
- Communicate Tax Risks and Opportunities: Identify and communicate tax risks associated with products and services, assessing the effectiveness of controls and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Professional Designation: Hold a CPA or LLB/JD designation and completion of CICA In-Depth Tax Course.
- Experience: Minimum 7+ years of professional experience in personal, trust, and corporate taxation, including personal financial planning.
- Knowledge and Skills: Broad knowledge of financial institutions, personal and corporate trust business and operations, excellent tax research and writing skills, and ability to communicate complex tax matters effectively.
