As a **_Behaviour Interventionist (BI)/Behaviour Therapist (BT)_** at Monarch House your primary responsibility is implementing Applied Behaviour Analysis interventions for children and youth with autism spectrum disorder or other learning and development delays and/or maladaptive behaviour. Your role is to execute intervention plans developed and supervised by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst® BCBA) to clients in care of Monarch House. You will work within an interdisciplinary team to support skill acquisition and/or decrease maladaptive behaviors while providing an engaging and positive client experience in a fast paced and frequently changing environment.

**Schedule**:

- Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays

**Take an inside look at what you will do each day**:

- Responsible for implementing treatment plans based on best practices.
- Uses systematic methods and behavioural strategies to support client in changing their behaviour
- Contributes to the development of ABA programs established by the BCBA to teach and reinforce a variety of skills for children and youth in a 1:1 and/or small group setting
- Assists in conducting baseline measurements and other indirect measures as instructed by the Lead Therapist/BCaBA/BCBA
- Understand the functions of behavior and responds appropriately and safely when situations arise
- Adhere to all ABA training, procedures, and protocols
- Ability to adapt to changing conditions and/or routine and provide creative solutions
- Responsible for creating a positive and engaging environment for the client
- Support clients with personal care tasks such as dressing, toileting, and eating
- Responsible for maintaining the well-being and safety

**Here is what you will need to be successful**
- Completed degree in ABA or a related field or pursuing education in Behaviour Analysis (programs that meet Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA)® or BCaBA® certification requirements)
- Education and demonstrated ability in ethical and professional practice
- Current Standard CPR and First Aid Certificate
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 months
- Ability to travel within the community
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience working with children and youth with complex needs and/or developmental disabilities will be considered an asset
- Enrollment in or degree from a post-secondary program of Psychology, Educational Psychology, Special Education or another related field is an asset
- Autism Spectrum Disorder specific coursework, training or workshops an asset
- Experience working with clients who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental disabilities
