Job Summary

We are seeking a Youth Support Specialist to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Vancouver. In this role, you will provide emotional and practical support to at-risk youth, helping them access resources and services that promote their well-being.

About the Role

This is a casual/on-call position working Monday – Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm (4 or 8 hour shifts daily). As an Access Worker with the Youth Around Prince (YAP) program, you will establish rapport with young people and help them identify and work towards goals in different areas of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with at-risk youth, providing individualized support and guidance.
  • Connect youth with other needed resources, including Foundry Prince George, which works closely with YAP.
  • Hold personal and professional boundaries while identifying and managing risk safely.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of available resources for youth at risk.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Relevant education or training in social services (social service diploma or comparable).
  • Enthusiasm for working with young people and a commitment to low-barrier, non-judgmental, and harm reduction approaches.
  • Ability to work as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team.
  • Physical ability to perform duties required.
