About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at East Side Mario's. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring that our guests receive an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement menus that showcase our Italian-Canadian cuisine
    • Source high-quality ingredients and manage inventory to ensure efficient kitchen operations
  • Team Leadership
    • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional service
    • Maintain a positive and productive team environment
  • Food Safety and Quality
    • Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality and safety
    • Implement and maintain food safety protocols to prevent contamination and foodborne illness
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage inventory levels to ensure that we have the necessary ingredients and supplies to meet demand
    • Monitor and control food costs to ensure profitability
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance
    • Ensure that the kitchen and dining areas are clean and well-maintained at all times
    • Implement and maintain cleaning schedules to prevent the buildup of dirt and grime
Requirements
  • Education
    • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Experience
    • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Certifications
    • Safe Food Handling certificate
Working Conditions

This is a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
