Bilingual Paralegal

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal to join our team at LendCare Capital Inc., a subsidiary of goeasy Ltd. As a Paralegal, you will be responsible for drafting and preparing legal documents, managing a high volume of legal files, and providing support to our legal team.

• Draft and Prepare Legal Documents: Utilize your expertise to draft and prepare pleadings, legal documents, and other materials with precision and accuracy.
• Manage Legal Files: Maintain a high volume of legal files, ensuring organization and accessibility to support efficient case preparation and court appearances.
• Support the Legal Team: Collaborate with other members of the legal department to provide solid support and contribute to the success of our team.
• Court Appearances: Actively prepare for and attend court appearances, providing expert support to our legal team.
• Debt Collections and Litigation: Oversee and coordinate debt collections and litigation processes, utilizing your knowledge of the Rules of the Small Claims Court and Small Claims Debt Collections.

• Education: Paralegal Diploma or Certificate, Licensed with the Law Society of Ontario.
• Accreditation: Accreditation in good standing.
• Professional Liability Insurance: Current professional liability insurance.
• Language Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.
• Knowledge: Knowledge of the Rules of the Small Claims Court and Small Claims Debt Collections.
• Experience: Relevant working experience is an asset but not required.
• Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills and the ability to adapt to company systems.
• Availability: Full-time availability (40 hours/week) and ability to work in our head office in Pickering, ON.
