Responsibilities

As a registered nurse, you will provide professional nursing care to patients or groups of patients by utilizing evidence-based nursing practice. You will establish a therapeutic and professional relationship by collaborating with the patient, family, and interprofessional team to plan, implement, and evaluate care while respecting their needs, values, and beliefs.

Requirements

• Hold a valid certificate of competence from the Ontario College of Nurses;
• Hold a valid certificate in cardiac resuscitation (RCR), level of immediate care (C);
• Bilingualism (French/English) at an intermediate level;

Selection Criteria

The candidates will be considered in the following order:

• First: candidates with 1 year of experience in perinatal care (neonatal, intrapartum);
• Second: candidates with 3 months of experience in perinatal care (neonatal, intrapartum, postpartum, perioperative care) and/or lactation consultant;
• Third: candidates with 6 months of experience in critical care (emergency, intensive care, recovery room) or surgery.

Conditions

• The candidate must have up-to-date PRN training or be enrolled in a course to obtain it. The candidate must maintain their PRN training up to date. The candidate agrees to work in 2 specialties of the unit (obstetric and postpartum care or neonatal and postpartum care).
