Expert Communication Strategist

We are seeking an exceptional communications expert to join our team in the Waikato Bay of Plenty region. As a Senior Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing targeted communication strategies that drive meaningful engagement with stakeholders and communities.
This is an opportunity to bring your expertise to support NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) and make a lasting impact on New Zealand's transport system. You will be responsible for crafting compelling stories about our work, fostering strong relationships with partners and stakeholders, and ensuring effective communication across various channels.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and delivering comprehensive communication plans that meet NZTA standards
- Crafting engaging content that showcases our work and resonates with diverse audiences
- Fostering partnerships and collaborations with key stakeholders to drive mutual understanding and success
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements
You will be working closely with our Engagement and Partnerships group to tell compelling stories about our work and build strong relationships with our central and local government partners, communities, and industry stakeholders.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in communications planning and delivery at a senior level
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and simply
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with people at all levels
- A willingness to learn and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of communications and engagement
