About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Communications Strategist to join our team at the New Zealand Transport Agency in Waikato. As a key member of our Engagement and Partnerships Group, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing effective communications strategies to engage stakeholders and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement communications plans that align with agency priorities and goals;
  • Provide strategic advice to senior managers on communications and engagement matters;
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and brand representation;
  • Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including iwi, community groups, and media representatives;
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to communications and engagement.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in communications or a related field;
  • Proven experience in communications and engagement strategy development and implementation;
  • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and competing priorities;
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a willingness to take initiative and lead projects.
