Senior Electrical Engineer

BBA Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering protection and design solutions for various electrical engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities- Execute technical and strategic mandates based on areas of expertise and in coordination with BBA's internal disciplines.
- Develop and deliver protection and design solutions, including equipment and design specifications, detail design, vendor bid evaluation, and factory acceptance testing.
- Design and develop HV/MV systems, including single lines, layouts, BOMs, schematics, and wiring.
- Design and configure relays for various applications, including line, transformer, and cap banks.
- Perform system studies, including short circuit, load flow, interconnection, protection, and other related tasks.
- Provide expertise and guidance to BBA's clients and project teams.
- Conduct technical reviews and oversee engineering and design activities.
- Lead various design phases of projects, including proposal development, design development, design basis, and detail design.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance and support.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders in the renewables, industrial, and utility sectors.
- Provide exposure to potential new clients and expand relationships with existing clients.
- Support the execution of BBA's strategy and action plan.
- Electrical Engineering degree and registration as a Professional in Canada, or a suitable combination of qualification(s) in a relevant field and applicable experience.
- 12 years of experience, specializing in Protection Engineering.
- Experience within large industrial, power generation, and utility sectors.
- Demonstrated experience with different vendors and protection schemes.
- Strong communications, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to perform widely varied tasks and meet widely varied challenges.
- Proven knowledge of project-management practices.
- Working knowledge of electrical design standards (CSA, IEEE, ANSI/IEC).
