We are seeking a detail-oriented Housekeeping Assistant to join our team at Southbridge Care Homes in Woodslee, ON.

As a key member of our housekeeping team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of our resident homes. This is a casual position with no fixed schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect floors, walls, windows, and doors using specified agents and following established procedures;
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, and dust surfaces, as well as empty wastebaskets and rearrange furniture;
  • Remove waste and maintain a clean environment throughout the facility;
  • Sort and deliver laundry, adhering to treatment instructions and separating loads according to classification;
  • Maintain laundry facilities, equipment, and supplies, reporting malfunctions to supervisors;
  • Ensure resident privacy during duties and adhere to established policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, fire safety, and confidentiality;
  • Perform outside work such as snow removal, sanding, and salting as required;
  • Collaborate with other departments on tasks like transferring residents, moving supplies, and participating in company meetings;
  • Develop skills in teamwork, time management, and customer service.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift, move equipment, and climb ladders; exposure to biochemical agents and wet floors;
  • Strong communication skills, including reading and writing English and following instructions;
  • French language skills an asset but not required.

Salary Range: $18-$22 per hour

The estimated salary range is based on industry standards for similar positions in residential care settings. As a Housekeeping Assistant, you can expect a competitive hourly rate reflecting your hard work and dedication to providing exceptional care to our residents.
