Job Summary:

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a skilled and reliable Housekeeper Assistant to join our team. As a Housekeeper Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of resident homes, common areas, and laundry facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing cleaning and disinfecting tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, and mopping floors, as well as cleaning walls, windows, and doors.
  • Collecting and sorting laundry, following specific instructions for treatment and separation.
  • Washing, drying, and folding laundry, as well as ironing and mending personal clothing.
  • Observing and reporting machine malfunctions, maintaining laundry facilities and equipment, and advising on inventory levels and linen shortages.
  • Ensuring resident privacy and adhering to established company policies and procedures.
  • Performing outside tasks, such as snow removal and salting, as required.
  • Cooperating with other departments and participating in company meetings and in-service education programs.

Requirements:

  • Considerable physical ability, including lifting, reaching, and climbing ladders, with exposure to biochemical agents and wet floors.
  • Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to read and write English and follow simple written and verbal instructions.
  • French speaking is an asset but not required.
