Job Summary

The Health and Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in maintaining compliance and mitigating risks at BGIS. This position is responsible for coordinating health and safety program processes and activities to support the account team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acts as the primary point of contact for health and safety inquiries and incidents.
  • Provides guidance to account team members on health and safety matters and escalates inquiries as necessary.
  • Coordinates the implementation of health and safety programs, processes, and procedures.
  • Coordinates health and safety activities, including committee meetings, incident investigation, training, and compliance audits.
  • Researches health and safety matters, provides findings, and recommendations.
  • Maintains and assists with the creation of health and safety documentation, including plans, processes, and procedures.
  • Creates and maintains documentation, including instruction sheets, checklists, forms, and training materials.
  • Participates in field inspections, job observations, health and safety audits, and other reviews to monitor compliance and identify risks.
  • Provides findings and suggestions for improvement.

Requirements

  • College degree completed.
  • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Management through a Community College.
  • 1-3 years of health and safety work experience.
  • Understanding of health and safety and environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Strong communication and administrative skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
