About the Job

Flynn Canada Ltd. is seeking a skilled Apprentice Roofer to join our team. As an Apprentice Roofer, you will assist experienced roofers in installing and repairing various types of roofing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation of built-up roofing systems, including asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel.
  • Help install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes, and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings.
  • Assist in the installation of single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions.
  • Support the repair or replacement of single-ply roofing systems.
  • Assist in instructing apprentices and other team members.
  • Help install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools.
Work Environment

As an Apprentice Roofer, you will work in a fast-paced environment with physically demanding tasks. You will be required to bend, crouch, kneel, and handle heavy loads. You will also work under pressure and be required to work overtime.

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Physical Demands: Fast-paced environment, physically demanding tasks, bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, working under pressure, and overtime required.
  • Language: English or French.
  • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
