As a reputable accounting firm, we are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team of professionals. Located in Barrie and Simcoe County, this role offers a competitive salary and opportunities for growth.

About the Role

In this position, you will be responsible for providing top-notch accounting and taxation services to small and medium-sized clients. Your expertise will include preparing financial statements, tax returns, and account reconciliations.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and compliant Notice to Reader files and financial statements.
  • Ensure timely and precise corporate and personal tax returns.
  • Perform thorough account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • File external returns such as HST, T4, and T5, adhering to tax regulations.
  • Provide exceptional client support with accounting and tax-related inquiries.
  • Collaborate with team members on audits, reviews, and engagements, delivering high-quality results.
Requirements
  • A degree in Accounting or equivalent field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Public Accounting.
  • Familiarity with preparing complete year-end files and Corporate tax returns.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, including general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation.
  • A solid grasp of tax principles, with experience applying tax rules for individuals and corporations.
  • Proficiency in various software programs, including Caseware, Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, Simply Accounting, and tax software.

The estimated salary for this role is $75,000 - $100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
