Job Title: Cook

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at MAPLE VILLA LONG TERM CARE CENTRE. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Co-ordinate special events and plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
  • Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Order supplies and equipment and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas
  • Manage kitchen operations and supervise kitchen staff and helpers
Requirements:
  • Cook Trade Certification
  • Food Safety Certificate
  • Vulnerable sector check
  • Criminal record check
  • Tuberculosis test
Work Environment:

Our kitchen is a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and ability to work under pressure are essential. You will be required to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
