Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Surgical Preparation: Assist in setting up the operating room, preparing instruments, and transferring patients to ensure a seamless surgical experience.
  • Surgical Support: Provide patient care, clean and prepare patients for surgery, and assist the doctor with surgical procedures.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate equipment used during cataract surgery, including phaco machines and autoclaves.
  • Sterile Field Maintenance: Maintain a sterile environment by utilizing proper sterile techniques and sterilizing instruments.
  • Documentation and Tracking: Accurately document patient records and track intraocular lens selection through our EMR system.
  • Post-Operative Care: Perform post-operative patient calls to ensure patient recovery and review post-operative instructions.
  • Supply Management: Assist in maintaining an inventory of supplies and ordering as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Work efficiently with patients, doctors, and other staff to create a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
  • Medical Experience: Previous experience in a medical clinical environment is an asset.
  • Certifications: PCA or LPN certification is an asset.
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in a professional environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, potentially high-stress environment.
