Job Title: Master, Ship

As a Master, Ship, you will be responsible for leading a professional marine team on our Salish Sea Vessels. You will inspire and educate passengers from around the world, working with a team that is passionate about sharing their knowledge of the BC coast and its wildlife.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the safe operation of the vessel, its crew, and passengers.
  • Lead the team in accordance with Marine Industry Standards.
  • Operate the vessel in accordance with Transport Canada Standards and regulations.
  • Conduct crew drills as required by Transport Canada and company SOPs.
  • Assist in the day-to-day maintenance of the vessel.
  • Participate in vessel refit and winterization.
Requirements:
  • Master 150 Gross Tonnage, Domestic Certificate.
  • Marine Advanced First Aid.
  • Med- STCW Basic Safety.
  • Med- Survival Craft, other than fast rescue boats.
  • Med- Advanced Firefighting.
  • SEN Limited.
  • Valid Marine Medical Certificate.
  • Working knowledge of PWWA Regulations.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills with passengers and crew.
  • Ability to work on your feet for up to 12 hours.
