Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a seasoned Senior Counsel to support the Capital Markets and Investor Services businesses on a wide range of legal matters related to securities finance and derivatives transactions.

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly skilled attorney to join our team and make a meaningful contribution to the bank's success.

The Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert legal services to Capital Markets and Investor Services business and functional partners on matters relating to securities lending, repurchase agreements, futures, and other derivatives transactions.
  • Developing and implementing policy work related to the bank's derivatives and securities finance activities.
  • Collaborating with a team of lawyers to provide advice on a wide range of legal issues impacting the Capital Markets business.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Must have at least 8 years of relevant experience as a securities finance and/or derivatives lawyer in private practice or as in-house counsel.
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills are essential.
  • A strong business acumen and ability to manage competing priorities while working under tight deadlines.
