Job Title: Registered Nurse

At The Royal Mental Health Centre, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in providing exceptional care to individuals with mental health needs.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care to patients in our psychiatric unit. The successful candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric nursing and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized nursing care to patients with mental health needs, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Coordinate services and resources to ensure patients receive comprehensive care.
  • Lead and guide nursing staff in daily work assignments, ensuring high-quality care is provided.
  • Manage crisis situations and provide emergency care as needed.
  • Recognize and intervene in emergent health problems.
  • Provide a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
  • Prepare and administer medications as per policy and procedure.
  • Apply relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act, to ensure best practice.
  • Work in a manner that promotes staff and patient safety.
Qualifications:
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse in the Province of Ontario.
  • BScN preferred.
  • Certification in psychiatric/mental health nursing considered an asset.
  • Clear understanding of the MHA and relevant legislation.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and skill in psychiatric nursing practice.
  • Met the Royal nursing and hospital standards for mandatory education.
  • CPI and ASSIST training considered an asset.
  • Able to meet the Standards of nursing practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Salary Range:

$37.93 to $54.37 per hour
