Are you a skilled software testing professional looking for a new challenge? We're seeking a Quality Assurance Automation Specialist to join our team at Scotiabank.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with our team to drive automation testing adoption across the organization. As a Quality Assurance Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Actively seeking new and innovative technologies to drive automation testing adoption
  • Providing test automation framework training to development teams
  • Maintaining existing automation frameworks and creating new ones as required
  • Providing recommendations and design solutions to improve quality across the organization
  • Creating and implementing technical roadmaps
  • Working with technical and business teams to identify and measure opportunities to create capacity and efficiencies
  • Coaching and mentoring team members to support career development and personal growth
  • Participating in knowledge exchange forums
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5 or more years of experience in software development and automated testing tools
  • A good understanding of software testing methodologies (functional vs non-functional testing)
  • Experience working in agile teams using Scrum or Kanban
  • Ability to execute QE activities within sprint and work closely with development and business teams
  • Experience with cross-browser and cross-device testing for web and mobile applications
  • Experience working on automation frameworks for mobile and web applications using Appium and Selenium
  • Strong coding skills with Java, JavaScript, Python, or other technologies
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins)
  • Experience with testing REST API and proficiency in API testing tools – Postman and Swagger
  • Hands-on experience with identifying defects, minimizing steps to replicate, and logging issues into a defect tracking tool (JIRA or similar)
