Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Kelly O'Bryans Neighbourhood Restaurant. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes, as well as supervising kitchen staff and helpers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes, adhering to high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Order supplies and equipment, maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Organize buffets and banquets, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Manage kitchen operations, making decisions to optimize efficiency and quality.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a restaurant or food service environment.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a focus on quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on attention to detail and multitasking.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
