Job Overview:

Pro Vita Care Management Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Care Professional to join our team in Agassiz, BC. As a key member of our care staff, you will play a vital role in supporting our residents in Long Term Care.

About the Job:

This Casual position requires a Rehabilitation Assistant with experience working with seniors. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting residents with established rehabilitative programs, positioning and setting up treatment programs, and transporting residents to and from activities using mechanical aides.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with task analysis, application and use of assistive devices, joint rotation, and cognitive rehabilitation.
  • Position and set up treatment programs such as Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator treatments, range of motion exercises, stretching routines, muscle strength and endurance exercises, and ambulation programs.
  • Prepare modalities for residents such as hot packs, ice packs, electrotherapy, and exercise apparatus for treatment as directed by the therapist.
  • Transport residents to and from activities using walker, wheelchair, and lift.
  • Record observations on care plans and report resident behavior and progress to the Primary Nurse and Physiotherapist.
  • Teach, direct, and demonstrate techniques and methods of related activities to residents, care staff, and volunteers.
  • Operate bus/van/car to transport residents to programs.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program and 1 year's recent experience working with seniors or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Maintain Current Class 4 BC driver's license and Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR "A". Pass Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Check upon hire and every 5 years thereafter.
  • Satisfactory proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.
