Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Development Worker to join our team at Seabird Island Band. As a key member of our Health Department, you will play a vital role in supporting and connecting families on their journey to wellness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain confidentiality and provide non-judgmental, culturally sensitive services to families.
  • Assess client needs and develop plans to improve wellness, working collaboratively with community members and other health services workers.
  • Facilitate regular case conferences and maintain accurate client service records.
  • Coordinate and implement workshops on relevant topics, promoting client independence and healthy professional boundaries.
  • Consult with supervisor on client work plans and services, identifying gaps in services and bringing them to the attention of the Seabird Island Health Team.
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
  • Non-violent crisis intervention certificate an asset.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office 365 Suite and ability to work independently with a strong team spirit.
  • Knowledge of family dynamics, addictions, and community resources, with experience working with First Nations communities an asset.
