We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist Consultant to join our team at Spectrum Health Care Inc. As a Consultant, you will work as an independent contractor to support clients in Toronto.

This role offers a unique opportunity to provide in-home and virtual consultations with patients and collaborate with Spectrum leadership to enhance our ability to deliver rehabilitative services in the community.

Job Description
  • You will conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' speech, language, and swallowing abilities, identifying areas of impairment and establishing treatment goals.
  • You will develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions.
  • You will provide direct therapy to patients to improve their speech production, language comprehension and expression, articulation, voice quality, fluency, and swallowing function.
  • You will utilize various treatment modalities, such as articulation therapy, language therapy, oral motor exercises, cognitive-communication therapy, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies.
  • You will assist patients/families with obtaining equipment and devices that aid communication strategies (e.g. AAC devices, assistive listening devices, communication applications, etc.).
  • You will provide guidance and support to patients, families, and caregivers to facilitate carryover of therapy techniques and strategies into daily life.
  • You will maintain accurate and detailed documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Requirements
  • You must have a Master's degree from a Speech Language Pathology program.
  • You must be registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario.
  • You must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Experience working in a community setting is an asset.
  • You must have a valid Ontario driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
  • You must be proficient in conducting assessments, interpreting assessment results, and formulating evidence-based treatment plans.
  • You must have experience using a variety of assessment tools and therapy techniques commonly used in speech-language pathology.

The estimated salary for this position is $80-$100 per hour.
