Job Title: Clinical Extern

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Extern to join our Quality and Patient Safety (QPS) department on a temporary part-time basis. As a Clinical Extern, you will play a vital role in supporting our team with quality improvement projects, patient safety incident management, and other administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the QPS team with quality improvement initiatives and patient safety incident management processes
  • Assist with administrative tasks and duties as required
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and implement process improvements
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of quality improvement projects
Requirements:
  • Nursing students enrolled in a CNO-approved baccalaureate-nursing program in their final year of study
  • Demonstrated evidence of excellent academic standing
  • Completion of mandatory certifications provided via corporate orientation
  • Strong interest in quality improvement and patient safety
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and designing software
  • Experience working with healthcare information systems and electronic health records

  • Works under the direct and/or indirect supervision of the Director of Quality and Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Consultants
  • Requests assistance with assigned duties whenever needed

  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and adaptability to work in a dynamic environment

Additional Information:

Hours: Currently days, 8 hours, Monday to Friday (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Clinical Externs will be hired on contract, working part-time hours (minimum 15 to 24 hours per week) to a maximum of full-time hours (37.5 hours per week)
