**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Extern to join our Quality and Patient Safety team. As a Clinical Extern, you will play a vital role in supporting our team with quality improvement projects, patient safety incident management, and other administrative duties.
**Responsibilities:**
* Assist the Quality and Patient Safety team with quality improvement projects and patient safety initiatives
* Support the management of patient safety incidents and near misses
* Perform administrative tasks as required
* Collaborate with the team to identify and implement process improvements
**Requirements:**
* Currently enrolled in a CNO-approved baccalaureate nursing program
* Demonstrated evidence of excellent academic standing
* Completion of mandatory certifications, including extern orientation and program-defined requirements
* Strong interest in quality improvement and patient safety
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and designing software
* Experience working with healthcare information systems and electronic health records
**Core Competencies:**
* Works under the direct and/or indirect supervision of the Director of Quality and Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Consultants
* Requests assistance with assigned duties whenever needed
* Demonstrates excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills
* Demonstrates excellent organizational and time-management skills
* Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and adaptability to work in a dynamic environment
* Actively engages as a collaborative team member
**Additional Information:**
* Hours: Currently days, 8 hours, Monday to Friday (subject to change)
* Clinical Externs will be hired on contract, working part-time hours (minimum 15 to 24 hours per week) to a maximum of full-time hours (37.5 hours per week)
