About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Child Care and Education
    • Assist early childhood educators in planning and implementing child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
    • Develop and implement activities that support the learning and development of children, including arts, crafts, music, and physical activities.
    • Encourage children to express their creativity and imagination through various media and activities.
  • Child Care Support
    • Assist with the daily care of children, including feeding, bathing, and dressing.
    • Help to maintain a safe and healthy environment for children, including preparing snacks and arranging rooms or furniture for meals and rest periods.
    • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and report to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the child care centre.
    • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children and contribute to the development of strategies to support their learning and development.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a child care setting.
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Language and Work Environment
    • Fluent in English.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Punctuality and dependability.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team.
