Clinical Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at Shoppers Drug Mart / Pharmaprix. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our pharmacy team.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Assessments and Medication Management: Conduct thorough patient assessments to prescribe new medications or extend existing ones, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Travel Health Consultations: Provide expert advice on travel health and vaccinations to patients, ensuring they are well-prepared for their journeys.
- Chronic Disease Management: Collaborate with patients to develop and implement medication plans that manage chronic diseases, improving their quality of life.
- Administration of Medications: Safely administer medications by injection, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Point of Care Screening and Swabs: Conduct point of care screening and swabs as needed, providing timely and accurate results to patients.
- Lab Requisitions and Results: Order lab requisitions and interpret lab results, making informed decisions about patient care.
- Circles of Care: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to establish circles of care for patients, ensuring comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Medication Counselling: Provide patients with clear and concise information about their medications, ensuring they understand their treatment plans.
- Dispensary and Pharmacy Workflow: Manage dispensary and pharmacy workflow activities, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
- Alberta Pharmacist License: Possess a valid Alberta pharmacist license.
- Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA) Certification: Hold APA certification or be currently pursuing certification.
- Injection Certification: Possess injection certification.
- Additional Accreditations: Hold additional accreditations such as CDE, CRE CTH, etc. (asset).
- HealthWATCH Pharmacy Software Knowledge: Have knowledge of HealthWATCH pharmacy software (asset).
- Customer Relations and Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent customer relations and communication skills, with a strong sense of professionalism.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Possess strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to formulate and execute action plans.
