Job Title: Public Safety Coordinator

Join the Ville de Côte Saint-Luc team as a Public Safety Coordinator, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our community.

Job Summary

The Public Safety Department is responsible for providing emergency services, enforcing bylaws, and ensuring the safety of municipal facilities and infrastructures. As a Public Safety Coordinator, you will assist in the coordination of department activities, including recruitment, community and public relations, day-to-day operations, and training.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist in the coordination of department activities, including recruitment, community and public relations, day-to-day operations, and training.
  2. Mentor, coordinate, coach, and develop volunteer officers and supervisors in their roles.
  3. Communicate and disseminate best practices, changes to intervention protocols, and other departmental news.
  4. Assist the Administration Division Chief with the creation and preparation of training programs and content, and with the planning of training cohorts.
  5. Monitor operational and personnel performances using dashboards and performance indicators.
  6. Help ensure compliance with departmental procedures, protocols, and occupational health and safety standards.
  7. Respond to emergency calls, if required.
  8. Perform any other related duties as required.
Requirements
  • Experience of at least 1 year in the supervision and management of emergency services or similar.
  • First responder certification (MSSS level 3) or equivalent, or commitment to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Experience, talent, and passion for volunteer management and knowledge of the municipal environment will be considered as assets.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage stressful situations.
  • Bilingual English/French, spoken and written.
  • 4A driver's license or commitment to obtain it within a reasonable timeframe.
