About the Role:

Our client, a Canadian-owned engineering consulting firm, is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the project management process, you will provide technical expertise and support, working closely with clients through the design and construction process. Your responsibilities will include managing the application and permitting process with municipalities, maintaining positive business relationships, and overseeing borehole drilling and geotechnical assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise and support in project management.
  • Work closely with clients through the design and construction process.
  • Manage the application and permitting process with municipalities.
  • Maintain positive business relationships with clients, external bodies, and internal team.
  • Oversee borehole drilling and geotechnical assessments.
  • Conduct design, analysis, and report writing for projects.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and practices.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in an engineering role.
  • Ability to assist in office management, client interfacing, and business development.
  • Positive attitude, perseverance, and ability to adapt to new sales and business development.
  • Problem-solving skills, handling issues with tact and responsibility internally and externally.
  • Coachability, open to working with senior leadership to improve skills and implement new strategies.
  • College or university education mandatory, bachelor's degree or diploma mandatory. Master's education preferred.
  • P.Eng certification through PEO mandatory, or ability to certify.
  • Experience in projects related to pavement design, tunnelling, slope stability, railways, water infrastructure, and land development highly preferred.
  • Valid license and/or means of transportation to visit project sites.
  • AutoCAD, MS Office.
