Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Farm Worker - Hog Farm to join our team. As a key member of our livestock production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our pigs, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain the health and well-being of pigs, including administering medication and vaccinations as needed
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of farm facilities, including hog barns and production areas
- Assist with the feeding and watering of pigs
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and repairing equipment
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve production goals and ensure the smooth operation of the farm
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in animal science or a related field an asset
- Minimum 1 year of experience in livestock production or a related field
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment
